5 Miles
I walked 5 miles today on my trusty treadmill. The movie of the day was Spirit of the Marathon. It was a documentary that followed six people training for the 2005 Chicago Marathon. Two of the people featured are world class athletes and the rest are everyday people in various stages of their lives. For a couple of them, Chicago was their first marathon. I love this movie! It is very inspiring and as if I didn’t already love Chicago enough, it makes me really want to run this marathon.
I hope to complete 5 miles walking every day until next Monday when I want to walk 6. We’ll see how my hip and leg hold out. I stretched and I used my roller after my walk today. I can definitely feel some low grade pain in my bottom but it is nothing I can’t live with.
My mind is filled with the idea of doing March Madness again. Walking 10 miles a day during the month of March. I don’t know if I am physically capable of doing it. My mind wants to!!! I want my hip, butt, and leg to follow along.
I also have a trip scheduled in the middle of the month to see Sarah in California. We are spending my 55th birthday in Disneyland. The day before I will be able to walk on the treadmill and in the airport. I can use my GPS watch or a step counter to track the needed 10 miles. On the Disneyland day getting in 10 miles of walking should be no problem. The weekend days in California I can go to a gym to use a treadmill or go for a long walk. The day I fly back I will walk the halls of the airport until I have accumulated 10 miles. I’ll have plenty of time since Sarah will need to drop me off early in the morning for an afternoon flight.
I don’t have anything planned for the rest of the month so adding 3 hours of walking should be a piece of cake, right? 😊
