A Busy Day
Today was the first day of my 5K running class. Yeah! I made it through without too much pain. I’m hoping to shave time from my November walking marathon time by incorporating a bit of jogging. I figure if I jog at least three of the 26.2 miles I won’t be the last person crossing the finish line, LOL. Now to be honest, I’ve never been last but I’m definitely not in the front or even the middle.
We have an afternoon sail planned with friends of ours, Tracy and Sean. This is going to be a fun day!!!!!
My goodness the wind and waves were strong today. We had a wonderful time sailing with the Harpers today. Our sailing trip started with the choppiest water and strongest wind we’ve sailed in. Tracy was fine with the waves but I was a bit worried. We were able to see a part of Possession Sound that we haven’t seen before. We sailed south of the Navy base. Running before the wind back into the harbor made for a very smooth ride. We then docked and rode the ferry to Jetty Island. Walked around the north side of Jetty Island. We followed the beach and then instead of turning around we created our own path. Not the brightest idea considering we are four middle-aged adults with a fair amount of intelligence between us. We had to walk through tall grasses and various driftwood. We barely made our ferry back to the boat. All in all, it was eventful but full of laughter and spontaneity. Mark and I are very tired this evening as I’m sure Tracy and Sean are. I hope they want to sail with us again. Maybe on a day with a little less wind.
Served crackers, cheese, grapes, and wine while docked before taking the ferry to Jetty Island. Note to self… maybe we should have served the wine before the choppy waters!
