Jogging
Yeah I did it! I completed day one of the jogging homework assigned to me. For a little background, last Saturday was the first class of my 5K Jogging Class. We were assigned homework to jog two more times during the week before the next class.
Last Saturday after the early morning jogging class, we sailed with Tracy and Sean and did our infamous 2 1/2 hour off the path tour of the northside of Jetty Island. During our hike through the tall grasses and scattered driftwood on the beach, I fell and twisted my ankle. It hurt on Saturday and Sunday but I didn’t discover it was swollen and bruised until Monday. The funny thing is it hasn’t hurt since Sunday. It is still bruised and very slightly swollen. Anyway… I didn’t want to try jogging on it until today because I was scared of hurting it and not being able to do the November Seattle Marathon.
I walked/jogged this morning and it’s feeling great. I used the stopwatch for the first time and carried a small post-it in my hand with the notes on how long I should jog. It was hard considering my body normally walks but I almost have a euphoric feeling from accomplishing this task. I was supposed to jog Monday and Wednesday but will jog tomorrow and have a day of rest before Saturday.
