10 Mile Run
Plum blossoms are in full bloom as they frame snow-capped Mt. Pilchuck. |
Spring has sprung in Marysville! It was a glorious day to be outside logging miles. The weather couldn’t be nicer and the fragrance of the plum blossoms were intoxicating as I jogged under them.
I jogged 10 miles today. 9 miles were using run 3 minutes/walk 1 minute intervals. The last mile I jogged the entire mile. Everything seemed to go very smoothly on this run. My nutrition and liquids were perfect.
I had the cutest thing happen to me in my 9th mile. I was jogging up a slight hill and a teenage boy was jogging in the opposite direction. Usually I just say good morning or nod my head to acknowledge someone. Before I had a chance to say anything, he put his hand out to slap it for a high five! It made my day, LOL.
I also used my new GPS watch today. My Timex GPS watch stopped working a while ago. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do about it but I knew it was less than a year old. I bought it at REI so I gave them a call. Turns out they are great about returns. So I took it back in and bought the Garmin Forerunner 10. It is a very basic GPS watch and so easy to use. Much easier than the aforementioned Timex. Not only does the watch fit my wrist better, it is pink, my favorite color. It also plugs into the computer to download your run data. Nifty!
