Larrasoana to Pamplona
14.9 km
Total 67.2 km
We had a very light breakfast at the hostel. Cafe con leche and cookies. Second breakfast in Akerreta and third breakfast in Trinidad de Arre.
This was my last day of hiking with Alyssa and Michi. I think it was the perfect amount of days. I know Alyssa is done walking for a while. The weather is too cold for her and also the scenery a tad boring.
I’ve had quite a few patata tortillas (potato omelet) since I’ve been here. I think I’m finally getting tired of them. Michi thinks I should write a blog rating the different tortillas. A challenge worth pursuing, but I think I’ll pass. The pilgrim menus in Spain haven’t been filled with the delicious food I thought they would have. The camino has just started so I have hope for some tasty morsels as I walk into the different regions. The Galicia region of Spain is known for their delicious seafood. Seafood is my favorite. Also there is an almond cake called Tarta de Santiago only served in the Galicia region. I’ve made it at home and it’s delicious!
Tonight we are in the Pamplona Hotel Plaza. It’s super cute and I have my own room. Nice to have some privacy again. I’m sure I’ll miss Alyssa and Michi when they are back in Munich.
My backpack is here! It is fantastic to have a few extra things. I have missed my special hiking socks and pajamas. Some of my (essentials) will be going with Alyssa. Surviving a week without any extra items has been liberating.
We walked around Pamplona and saw many sites. Ate an early dinner at a bar that someone recommended to us from last night. I had an early night and Alyssa and Michi went out again.
