20 Mile Marathon Training Run

Today I ran from Snohomish to Arlington on the Centennial Trail.  I can’t say it was easy or pain-free but I accomplished it.  We drove to downtown Snohomish early this morning so I could start my run.  4:16:28 and 20 miles later in Arlington I was finished.

Mark was a wonderful support person.  He drove to the different trailheads on the Centennial Trail and supplied me with Gatorade and GU packets.  I didn’t have to worry about carrying any extra weight of liquids.  Also my race belt is too small to carry the amount of GU and Shot Bloks I needed.

I saw a mother and baby deer at mile 18.  I was able to take a picture of the fawn before they both ran off.

The 20 mile run today was very important.  I needed it to prove I would be able to do the marathon.  I had a disastrous 18 mile run, due to the fact it was split up between a half marathon and my nutrition was off.  Today’s run wasn’t the confidence builder I had hoped, but I did complete it.
