A New Adventure
I’m excited to announce I will be starting a new adventure, the middle of February. I will be hiking a large portion of the Appalachian Trail. The beginning of the trail starts in northern Georgia at Springer Mountain and ends at Mount Katahdin in Maine.
I’m not planning on hiking the entire trail, but if everything goes well, I will make it to Vermont. I am also leaving the option open to do the the southern portion in Spring and the northern in Autumn.
Mark is completely supportive of my hike. I’ve asked him numerous times if he would like to accompany me. Mark isn’t into backpacking. He is quite happy taking our vacations “camping” on a 37 ft. sailboat! ⛵😉 We also have two adorable dachsunds. They have become quite used to napping under Mark’s desk while he works from home.
He’ll be my support person from home, sending boxes filled with his love and supplies every 100 miles. Mark will also be following me along the trail with an InReach Satellite tracker.
Why I want to hike the Appalachian Trail
- I want to do something epic and special.
- I love long distance walking.
- Taking pictures is a hobby and I’ll be able to spend my days finding interesting and beautiful subjects.
- Because I am able to!
- This hike will help me be in the best shape of my life.
