Sailing with the Hansens
Mark climbed the mast again on Sunday. A little experience goes a long way. This time he used the correct form and it went more smoothly. Mark straightened his legs while climbing so the majority of muscles used were from the legs instead of the arms. He climbed up three quarters of the way. The anchor lightbulb has been changed. Mark is now ready for The Amazing Race.

We spent a nice afternoon sailing with the Hansens. Harvey, the harbor seal, was there to greet us before we left the slip. I’m sure he was looking for food. I wish I could’ve given him something but I know it would be detrimental to him. He’s so cute popping his head up and swimming around. Two more harbors seals were laying on the green buoy to welcome us to Port Gardner.

There was a nice breeze to fill the sails. The water was a bit choppy and it was cloudy but overall a nice day for sailing. It looked chilly due to the lack of sun but with a jacket on the temperature was perfect. We sailed over to the north side of Gedney (Hat) Island. The wind was coming from the south and we sailed along quickly slicing through the water. After our sail we had dinner with Sue and Mike at Anthony’s.
