10 Miles of Drizzly Rain and a Yoga Class
I accomplished a lot today. I jogged/walked 10 miles using my 2/1 minute intervals. This afternoon I attended my favorite Yoga class.
I got up around 7:00, drank water and ate my bagel, turkey, and Jarlsberg cheese sandwich. All very smart things to do to prepare my body for a long jog. Around 8:30 I decided a Diet Coke was needed for the caffeine. Sometimes I’m not the sharpest crayon in the box. I regretted drinking that Diet Coke later during the jog.
At 9:30 I descended on the Jennings Loop around my neighborhood. The busy streets had quieted since rush hour was over and the children were inside the two elementary schools I pass. We’ve had nothing but rain for days. Lucky for me, the rain had slowed to a drizzle. I was still soaked from being out there for a couple hours but it could have been worse.
Yesterday it was pouring and you could see remnants of it today. At one of the elementary schools there was a flood in the parking lot and they were using an electric pump to transfer the water into a drainage sewer. I wasn’t paying attention to my jogging and I stepped off the sidewalk and twisted my ankle. It hurt for a few minutes so I walked for a while and then resumed jogging.

Allen Creek was flowing fast with water today. It’s always funny to see that. Usually Allen Creek is a very slim stream mostly filled with tall weeds.
