4 Miles in Wind Gusts

Today I made some nutrition mistakes.  I did not drink enough water or eat correctly before my jog.  Breakfast consisted of an egg and 2 egg whites with a small cube of Gorgonzola cheese tossed in.  I was planning on eating a slice of toast for carbs with it but never got around to it. 

A few hours later, after not drinking much water, I embarked on a 4 mile jog.  I was thirsty from the beginning.  I powered through and did well until mile 3.5.  Then everything started to catch up to me.  I took a lot of walking breaks after that. 

The weather probably didn’t help much.  The winds were blowing and gusting strongly the entire time I was out there.  On a positive note, it was beautiful.  It had rained all night and the winds had blown the dark clouds away to reveal blue skies and puffy white clouds.  Lucky for me, it didn’t start to rain again until many hours later.

I learned a lot today about eating correctly even for short jogs.  My body needs water and carbs!
